How It Started
Estate Agency X began in 2017, when founder Mark Burgess brought together 30 agents for a small event focused on one question: What could estate agency become if we rethought how it works? That conversation struck a chord. The event grew. The questions deepened. The thinking sharpened. What started as a one-off talk evolved into a movement, now drawing 150+ agents per event, with speakers brought in from outside the property industry to share global ideas and challenge the status quo. In 2018, we launched one of the UK’s first estate agency podcasts, now the #1 business and entrepreneurship podcast on the Apple charts. That same year, Rob Brady joined as a co-host, helping shape the conversations and bring deeper accountability to the leadership journey we were building. Thousands of hours followed. Interviews, workshops, coaching sessions and transformations, all focused on helping agents rethink what their businesses could be.
The Business Accelerator
In 2023, we launched the Estate Agency X Business Accelerator, a 12-month programme for a small group of agency owners ready to scale with clarity, credibility and support. It’s not about hacks or hype. It’s about deep, strategic work, combining outside-industry expertise with human performance, branding, operations and modern leadership tools. The results speak for themselves in real transformation, sustained momentum and better decisions.
What’s Next... The Network
In 2026, we’re launching the Leading Estate Agents of the World Network, a new-age community designed for agents who don’t just want to connect, but want to lead. This network is built on everything we’ve learned from years of honest conversations, the need for alignment, the power of belonging and the desire to grow without giving up your independence It’s a network for those who lead with credibility, learn from outside the bubble, and believe estate agency can be more professional, more human and more sustainable.

In 2017, he created the first EAX event, and in 2026, he was shortlisted for a lifetime achievement award in the Proptech industry. Mark continues to push the industry forward — not through noise, but through clarity, systems and belief.

As a Chartered Management Institute Level 7 Qualified Leadership Coach & Mentor, Rob has delivered over 5,000 hours of coaching and performance transformation for estate agency leaders. He brings clarity, challenge and deep strategic support to every conversation, helping agents align business growth with personal leadership. Before joining Estate Agency X, Rob led a multi-branch Kent agency, managed 28 people, and scaled an £11m rental portfolio, experience that grounds every part of how he supports others now.
